We all knew this day was bound to come. The day when even the government is worried for our the safety of the most powerful nation in the world because of the way we are represented. Republicans have been spouting off at the mouth about the inherent danger in things like taking in refugees who are in serious need, and even patrolling Muslim areas in America. Homeland Security now saying this is not a smart move.
From denying immigrants America’s once sacred promise to take care of the world’s tired, poor, huddled masses yearning to breathe free, to policing innocent Americans, America doesn’t seem so American lately.
Republicans are even going as far is to try and take away the constitutional rights of people who were born in this country. Monitoring American Muslims was a recommendation by both 2016 Republican presidential candidates after recent terror attacks abroad.
Even George W. Bush in all his glorious failure didn’t have the nerve to spew the hateful rhetoric that has America seeing a rise hate crimes against Muslims, or even people who are only perceived to be Muslim. Donald Trump and Ted Cruz are responsible for much of the racial turmoil in the country right now, yet they are allowed to continue with their constitutional right to run America into the ground.
Security Secretary Jeh Johnson gave this message on MSNBC this morning:
“Inflammatory comments about patrolling and securing Muslim neighbors or barring Muslims from entering this country, having an immigration policy based on religion, is counterproductive to our homeland security and national security interests.”
This is the truth. It was American hatred and bullying that created ISIS to begin with. What exactly do candidates like Ted Cruz and Donald Trump think the world will think of America after the spineless fear-mongering by America’s leading cowards?
