South Korean officials have reported that four people have died and ten others are injured after an explosion occurred at a subway construction site near the capital in Seoul, South Korea early Wednesday morning.
The cause of the disaster has yet to be determined and officials from the Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters, as well as the Korea Rail Network Authority have said the workers were 15 meters (about 50 feet) underground when the explosion happened.
One worker was found above ground, dead, his body may have been blown upward by the explosion, the other 3 were found underground.
They were working on a subway line extension that was planned to begin operating in 2020.
