Controversy and scandal always seems to follow Hillary Clinton wherever she goes. In fact, this aura of controversy has stuck to her so consistently that there’s quite a marketable demand for writers who are willing to publish detailed accounts and allegations of shady behavior in book form, which appeal to many of her critics on all ends of the political spectrum.
The Clintons of course, along with many of her most diehard supporters, routinely dismiss these controversies when they arise, often due to the conservative “witch-hunt” attitude that drives many of her most fervent critics in the form of, say, the “Whitewater” scandal or the Benghazi committee. Many of them have undeniably reached to try and find wrongdoing where there often wasn’t any, especially due to the highly partisan nature of the attacks. Ultimately though, there is always a process to uncover the truth of these matters, and it lies within the realm of thorough, detailed investigations, not short blog posts on the internet.
However, it may be time to brace yourselves yet again for another Clinton controversy to enter the public conscience. A new set of allegations in another publication has surfaced, this time by former Secret Service officer Gary Byrne. According to the author, who was posted directly outside the Oval Office during Bill Clinton’s administration, Hillary was often prone to “erratic, uncontrollable, and occasionally violent” behavior, which he claims to have observed while serving her husband in the 1990s.
Byrne claims that what he saw “sickened” him so much that it compelled him to write the new Amazon bestseller, “Crisis of Character: A White House Secret Service Officer Discloses His Firsthand Experience with Hillary, Bill, and How They Operate.” The book will be released on June 28th, just in time to undermine her campaign before the Democratic National Convention in July.
According to passages released by Page Six, Byrne claims that Clinton often “screamed obscenities at her husband, Secret Service personnel and White House staffers — all of whom lived in terror of her next tirade.” Byrne also alleges that Secret Service would often have “discussions” about what to do if they had to protect Bill from her “violent attacks.” She was characterized as having a “Jekyll and Hyde” attitude, being friendly at times but also keeping staffers “scared stiff” of her outbursts.
‘Hillary Clinton is now poised to become the Democratic nominee for president of the United States, but she simply lacks the integrity and temperament to serve in the office.
From the bottom of my soul I know this to be true. And with Hillary’s latest rise, I realize that her own leadership style — volcanic, impulsive, enabled by sycophants, and disdainful of the rules set for everyone else — hasn’t changed a bit.’
Clinton’s campaign, however, has been swift to dismiss the claims brought about by Byrne. One of her campaign spokesmen, Nick Merrill, released this statement on the matter:
‘Gary Byrne joins the ranks of Ed Klein and other “authors” in this latest in a long line of books attempting to cash in on the election cycle with their nonsense. It should be put in the fantasy section of the book store.’
