NYC Mayor’s Office PERFECTLY Trolls Donald Trump After Trump Tower Emergency Evacuation (TWEETS)

Earlier today, Trump Tower in New York City was evacuated due to a “suspicious package” being found. In response to the package, the NYPD Bomb Squad responded to investigate the package on the premises. What they found, however, was simply a bag of children’s toys to which they responded by giving the all clear.

In response to this, the soon-to-be White House press secretary for the Trump Administration, Sean Spicer tweeted, “Back to work here at Trump Tower after a false alarm. Thanks NYPD.”

The brief moment of gratitude displayed in 140 characters or less did not escape a spokesman for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. In a tweet that could be considered a fine troll, spokesman Eric Phillips, tweeted Spicer back saying:

‘No problem. We’ll send you the bill.’

Phillips also tweeted before that, “*Suspicious* children’s toys.”

With Trump’s insistence on doing business at Trump Tower (at least until he is inaugurated) and the fact that his wife Melania Trump and son Barron Trump will remain there until at least the end of the school year, Mayor de Blasio has previously voiced his concern about the increased work and cost of protecting the president-elect at Trump Tower. He’s previously said, “This is a very substantial undertaking. It will take substantial resources, and we will begin the conversation with the federal government shortly on reimbursement for the NYPD for some of the costs that we are incurring. We are particularly concerned about overtime costs, and we think it’s a very valid situation to turn to the federal government for the maximum possible reimbursement for those costs.”

According to some city officials, the cost to protect the president-elect and his family in  New York City is over $1 million a day.
