Rachel Maddow Just Dissed Kellyanne Conway So Hard, She May Not Recover (VIDEO)

-

While appearing on Andy Cohen’s Watch What Happens LiveRachel Maddow compared Donald Trump’s campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway, to a “puppet without a hand,” the Daily Beast reports.

Maddow did offer some kind words to Conway for her willingness to appear on The Rachel Maddow Show and talk to her about issues. She noted that not many Republicans are willing to go on her show.

‘I like anyone who will speak to me as a base-level thing. That’s not a genuinely available thing for me from Republicans.’

However, Rachel Maddow noted that Kellyanne Conway was in an awkward position regarding Trump because she speaks for Trump, but Trump himself doesn’t appear to understand basic issues or know what his stance is on those issues. Maddow said that although Conway speaks for Trump, she doesn’t appear to be authorized to make any authoritative statements on his behalf.

‘She speaks for him but doesn’t actually speak for him. So that’s a hard job. That’s like being a puppet without a hand.’

This issue was on full display earlier this week when Kellyanne Conway appeared to defend the GOP’s decision to weaken the Office of Congressional Ethics. The Week reports that Conway said the following regarding the Office of Congressional Ethics.

‘Many of these people, members and their staffers who have been under investigation, have complained about their due process rights being violated and being compromised.’

Conway’s defense of the House GOP’s move was at odds with the president-elect who took to Twitter to criticize the GOP for wasting their time on such an issue.

‘With all that Congress has to work on, do they really have to make the weakening of the Independent Ethics Watchdog, as unfair as it…’

‘……..may be, their number one act and priority. Focus on tax reform, healthcare and so many other things of far greater importance!

Rachel Maddow also discussed Megyn Kelly’s decision to leave Fox News. The prime time news commentator joked that she was getting a little lonely being one of the only women with a prime time news slot. She also expressed concerns regarding Trump’s sexism and the impact that might have on women in the media.

‘One of the things that’s interesting is that we’ve got Donald Trump, he’s got this very — all the sexual harassment claims, grab women by the blah-blah-blah, all the concerns that women have about him and in that era, now there’s like no more women in news, in primetime at least.’

Admittedly, we’re a bit curious to see if Kelly’s content changes now that she’s away from Fox, but, as long as Rachel Maddow is still on the air, we’ll be fine regardless of what Megyn Kelly does.
