Ivanka Trump is, without question, a beautiful and stylish woman. She is celebrated by many, especially on the right these days, as a symbol of female empowerment and entrepreneurship.

That idea works until one has seen the photos proving that her success is dependent upon the exploitation of those far less fortunate than Ivanka.

This photo taken on September 14, 2016 shows a worker on a production line at the Huajian shoe factory, where about 100,000 pairs of Ivanka Trump-branded shoes have been made over the years amongst other brands, in Dongguan, in south China's Guangdong province. At the Dongguan factory, which employs some 15,000 people, it takes more than 200 workers to move a single pair of shoes from the concept stage to the loading dock. / AFP / GREG BAKER / TO GO WITH US-vote-Trump-China-manufacturing-employment,FOCUS by Ben Dooley (Photo credit should read GREG BAKER/AFP/Getty Images)

Ivanka’s fashion line has made her independently wealthy in her own right, separate from her father’s proclaimed vast wealth (which is questionable, anyway). It is difficult to celebrate that wealth as a feature of a businesswoman who should inspire other women in their empowerment, however, when it is requires the cruel disempowerment of others.

The factory where Ivanka Trump’s shoes are made is located in “Dongguan, in south China’s Guangdong province,” according to Getty photographer Greg Baker.

‘At the Dongguan factory, which employs some 15,000 people, it takes more than 200 workers to move a single pair of shoes from the concept stage to the loading dock.’

According to an expose in the fashion magazine, Rack, Ivanka’s company has some fairly shady policies. In addition to illegally underpaying workers, working conditions in the factory owned by the more famous and privileged Trump daughter cross the lines of abuse against workers. Those shoes look far less awesome in light of those employees’ revelations about what it cost them physically and personally to make the grossly overpriced footwear.

“Workers there told me that they were generally given only two days of rest per month and commonly worked 12-hour shifts, from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., with two one-hour meal breaks. A former employee surnamed Tian — who had quit the factory just days before, but still carried his Xuankai badge — said that in his months at the factory, he would sometimes have to work from 8 a.m. until 1 or 2 the following morning, with two hours of breaks during the long shifts. ‘We got to sleep for six hours,’ said Tian. ‘If we worked until after three in the morning, we could start the next day at 9:15.'”

In addition to the exploitation of these workers, which should inspire everyone with an ounce of humanity to boycott the line, there’s also the hypocrisy of Ivanka’s father promising to financially punish any company that takes jobs away from American workers in order to bloat their greedy CEOs and stockholders’ bottom lines.

Does that include your own slave-driving daughter, Trump?
