The president-elect is furious.
He has just taken to Twitter to respond to reports about the supposed dirt that the Kremlin is harboring to potentially use against him.
CNN reported on Tuesday afternoon that Trump and outgoing President Obama were both briefed on this alleged dirt.
And oh, boy did certain members of the news media run with that CNN report.
Buzzfeed News published shortly after CNN’s initial report a copy of what it claims underlined the supposed briefing given to Trump and Obama by members of the U.S. intelligence community.
This information, as published by Buzzfeed, outlines “specific, unverified and potentially unverifiable allegations of contact between Trump aides and Russian operatives, and graphic claims of sexual acts documented by the Russians.”
Yes, you read that right, although you’ve likely heard of a more graphic detail already — the “golden showers.”
The information published by Buzzfeed claims that Russia has a video of Trump in a Russian hotel room with prostitutes putting on a “golden showers (urination) show in front of him.”
And, again, Trump is furious.
He wrote on Twitter, in all capital letters, “FAKE NEWS – A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!”
FAKE NEWS – A TOTAL POLITICAL WITCH HUNT!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 11, 2017
And, for once, the president-elect may actually have a point. Buzzfeed’s story is one hundred percent unverified.
This incident most certainly does not bode well for the future of Trump’s already testy relations to the media.
