Trump Accuses Obama Of Another Insane Lie During Early AM Twitter Blast

Trump just flat out lied in his first tweet of the day this Tuesday. He took what he saw on Fox News about something bad happening, and, as one commenter put it, did not dig into that piece of so-called information one bit, instead simply reactively blaming Obama for it.

The thing is, what Trump is talking about here — the release of prisoners from Guantanamo Bay who have resumed fighting against Americans — has pretty much nothing to do with Obama.

Trump wrote, “122 vicious prisoners, released by the Obama Administration from Gitmo, have returned to the battlefield. Just another terrible decision!”

The Obama Administration did not release 122 people from the Guantanamo Bay detention facility who have returned to the battlefield and are now again fighting against Americans.

No, actually, that was George W. Bush.

To be precise, among the some 500 people who Bush released from Gitmo, 113 are confirmed of having returned to the battlefield. It is reported that 75 more on top of those 113 are suspected of also returning to the battlefield.

And Obama?

Of the 144 individuals released from Guantanamo Bay during Obama’s time in office, it is confirmed that 9 of them have returned to the battlefield.

The fact that President Trump so heartily supports keeping Gitmo open, and even bringing new prisoners there, is an issue of significance in itself. There are blatant human rights violations that go on there.

Another issue is this — the world is literally reeling to the extent that we’re preparing for open military conflict with North Korea, and Trump is watching Fox News.

Hey Trump — get off your fat backside and do something besides whine about the media! Show a modicum of concern!

You can see what Trump watched on Fox News this morning below.

Fox flashes the text on screen at the end of the segment that, as Trump referenced, some 122 former Gitmo detainees are again fighting Americans.

Again though, the vast, vast majority of those people were released under Bush, not Obama.
