What Anderson Cooper Just Said About Trump Has Twitter On High Alert (VIDEO)

-

This is perfect.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper appeared last night on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and revealed that he’s apparently muted Trump on Twitter.

It was after Colbert comically introduced Cooper by saying that he’ll get to CNN’s “fakeness” in a minute, asking him instead “how his weekend was,” that the veteran journalist revealed that hilarious piece of information.

He began, in response to Colbert’s question about his weekend: “It was weird… because the president started tweeting at you know, like six fifty something AM; I was actually, I flew into Phoenix because I was doing an investigation for 60 minutes all weekend…”

He cut himself off at that point and added to Colbert in a comical undertone: “I’ve actually muted the president on Twitter.”

After Colbert pressed him to explain, he added, “You know, when you get annoying people tweeting you, you don’t want to delete because then that tells them you’ve deleted them. So if you just mute them they think you’re still following them, and you don’t actually see their tweets.”

At that point the crowd began to cheer. Indeed, Cooper’s sentiments here are all of our’s sentiments as we struggle to grapple with a president who spends more energy tweeting than actually formulating policy to help the working class people of the United States.

Cooper eventually explained that he was out on assignment all weekend, so he didn’t keep on top of what the president was saying on Twitter. Thus, when he got back to the office on Sunday, Trump’s accusation that Obama had wiretapped Trump Tower came as a big surprise.

The renowned journalist eventually added on the subject of muting, “I just don’t want that kind of drama in my life.”

Cooper eventually explained that he does value Trump’s tweets in that they’re like “a real-time seismograph of the inner workings of the president’s head.”

Indeed they are, and the volatility that they reveal is frightening since the man ousting himself as volatile is the president of the United States.
