Trump Just Woke Up & Flew Into A Level 8 Morning Twitter Tantrum – Buckle Up

The president took to Twitter early this Saturday morning to shout at the world about the “fake news” coverage of his Friday meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, even though we can all see in footage from the joint press conference how poorly it went.

Trump wrote on Twitter:

‘Despite what you have heard from the FAKE NEWS, I had a GREAT meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Nevertheless, Germany owes vast sums of money to NATO & the United States must be paid more for the powerful, and very expensive, defense it provides to Germany!’

First of all, again, we can all see the kind of tension that existed between Trump and Merkel at their Friday meeting via footage from the various press availabilities associated with the event. It was so awful that at one point, Merkel can be seen apparently offering her hand for Donald Trump to shake, which he refused.

In addition to that, at a number of points during their joint press conference, Merkel can be seen looking horrified at comments that the president had just made. One such comment was when Trump accused a German reporter of peddling fake news.

Yes, the two also met privately, and there have been technically unverifiable media reports about how tense that meeting was.

However, the evidence is firmly on the side of the media.

Again, for one, just look at the tension between Trump and Merkel that was observed while they were in view of the media. Just imagine what must have been going on privately.

In addition, Trump has long beat the drum about the issue he brings up in one of his Saturday tweets — Germany supposedly not paying enough to NATO. Trump has repeatedly refused to take membership in NATO seriously and as something that should be continued.

And he wants us to believe that his private meeting with Merkel was all fun and games? Seriously? How stupid does he think we are or wish we were?
