Trump Flies Off The Rails Over Russia In Wild Monday Morning Twitter Rant (TWEET)

The president took to Twitter this Monday morning to address the ongoing controversy into his campaign’s alleged ties to Russia.

His tweets come as a pre-emptive strike against any sort of damaging information that FBI Director James Comey may share with Congress just hours in the future when he participates in the first post-inauguration public hearing on the Trump/Russia investigation.

One of the leaders in the House Committee hosting this hearing has said that he hasn’t seen any evidence confirming that any Trump campaign operatives served at Russia’s direct bidding. Rep. Devin Nunes’s assertion to that effect echoes a statement made by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who served under the Obama Administration.

Trump wrote on Twitter:

‘James Clapper and others stated that there is no evidence Potus colluded with Russia. This story is FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it! The real story that Congress, the FBI and all others should be looking into is the leaking of Classified information. Must find leaker now!’

The problem, which Trump unsurprisingly refuses to acknowledge in his calls to just forget about the whole thing, was summed up by Rep. Devin Nunes’s House Intelligence Committee counterpart, Rep. Adam Schiff.

As Schiff put it, although there is not any concrete evidence exposing Trump campaign operatives as having served at the direct bidding of Russia, there is evidence of deception. Thus, although Trump would like to pretend like the issue of his connections to Russia is a non-story, it’s his doing that it’s blown up like it has.

The Trump Organization has been sufficiently non-forthcoming enough, for example, about a secret computer server housed in New York City’s Trump Tower that the FBI has been forced to launch an investigation. This computer server has documented connections to the Russian Alfa Bank, which is under Putin’s thumb.

Trump added the mindless accusation on Twitter this Monday morning that the Democrats had “made up” the issue of his campaign’s ties to Russia purely for reasons of political expediency.

He wrote, “The Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign. Big advantage in Electoral College & lost!”

The Democrats didn’t make anything up, plain and simple.
