As we all know there has been an ongoing investigation into President Trump and his relationship to Russia, but now it has been reported that the investigation has “specific, concrete and corroborative evidence of collusion.” This new evidence proves that there was in fact discussions between members of the Trump campaign and agents in Russia, that relate to the use of hacked material.
These new developments in the case come from Britain’s spy agencies, which were among the first to alert their American counterparts about the fact that there had been contact between Trump’s campaign team and Russian intelligence operatives.
Not only British, but other European intelligence agencies had first intercepted interactions that they deemed suspicious between people closely associated with President Trump and Russian officials in 2015. They discovered this during a routine surveillance of Russia, intelligence sources have confirmed this information with a number of different publications.
The British intelligence agencies were not deliberately targeting those on the Trump team, but rather recorded communications during “incidental collections.” Multiple communications were discovered over several months between Trump associates and Russians. The European intelligence agencies then passed on this intelligence to the United States. The communications are likely to be closely examined by the Senate Intelligence Committee as part of their investigation into the Russia’s attempts to meddle in the most recent presidential race. A source close to the Senate’s ongoing investigation told CNN:
“If foreign intelligence agencies share information with US intelligence, and it’s relevant to the investigation, then of course the intelligence committee will look at it.”
Sources in Hungary are now coming forward claiming that the collision was headquartered out of Budapest. Dr. András Göllner, a Hungarian political dissident made the case that Arthur J. Finkelstein, a long-time associate of Donald Trump who currently works alongside the Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, was right in the center of it all. Orbán has been closely aligned with Russian President Vladimir Putin, allowing the Kremlin to do what it pleased within the borders of Hungary. Various Trump campaign advisors were seen during the election in and around Budapest.
Göllner makes the example of Trump campaign adviser J.D Gordon who took six trips to Budapest, where he publicly took stances on the Ukraine that lined up well with the Kremlin. Gordon has already admitted that he, in fact, was part of the Trump campaign team who met with a Russian Ambassador. After this meeting, the Republican Party changed their platform to be in line with the Kremlin’s position on Ukraine. Göllner goes on to point out that the current White House adviser to Trump, Sebastian Gorka has had documented close ties to far-right extremist groups whilst living in Hungry.
It is no surprise that Trump has found himself yet again with ties to Russia. Nothing has been released on the content of these conversations between Russian and Trump associates, as it still needs to be investigated further, but all we can do is hope that this could be possibly be the final nail in Trump’s coffin.
