Donald Trump expressed his concern about red state Georgia’s important special election in an early morning tweet Tuesday. The election will be a strong indicator of how worried Republicans should be. If the Democratic candidate John Ossoff wins by 50 or more points, that means big trouble ahead for the GOP.

The president tweeted, urging all Republicans to vote. Traditionally, Democrats lose mid-term and special elections due to low turnout, but Trump has fired them up:

‘Republicans must get out today and VOTE in Georgia 6. Force runoff and easy win! Dem Ossoff will raise your taxes-very bad on crime & 2nd A.’

Georgia’s election is to replace Tom Price after he became the new Health and Human Services Secretary. All polls indicate it is possible for the Democrats to retake the House in 2018 for the first time since 2010.

With 17 candidates running Tuesday, the chances of one candidate taking 50 points are slim. If no one reaches that number, there will be a run-off election between the two top contenders.

After the Democratic candidate in red state Kansas lost by a mere seven points, the GOP started waking up to their potential problems.

Trump is trying to convince Republicans of how terrible Ossoff would be, when actually his greatest fear probably is of losing in 2020. He tweeted:

‘Democrat Jon Ossoff would be a disaster in Congress. VERY weak on crime and illegal immigration, bad for jobs and wants higher taxes. Say NO.’
