In an early morning tweet Wednesday, Donald Trump once again tried to manipulate reality.
Democrat’s Jon Ossoff barely missed the 50 percent mark in the Georgia special election Tuesday, which the state requires to eliminate a runoff election. But it seems Mr. Trump is having trouble with that fact. Since the election is a direct reflection of the new president’s popularity, he tweeted:
‘Dems failed in Kansas and are now failing in Georgia. Great job Karen Handel! It is now Hollywood vs. Georgia on June 20th.’

In his first run for Congress, 30-year-old Ossoff took 48.1 percent of the vote, compared to Republican Karen Handel who, in an 18-candidate field, secured just 19.8 percent of the vote.
Georgia is a red state, and Trump became so invested in the outcome, he even taped robo calls for the special election.
The president’s argument against the Democrat was that he did not live in Georgia’s 6th District, but Ossoff grew up in the district, and his parents still live there. Trump also argued that the Democrat received outside money, although Ossoff maintains that the majority of his donations came from a groundswell of Georgia Democrats.
Ossoff and Handel will face each other in a June runoff.
