Supporters of President Donald Trump are known for being violent and destructive. It seems that they feel as though their actions are justified because the president himself lacks class and often times at rallies will entourage violent and rowdy behavior from his disciples. Well, another supporter of the president has committed a destructive act, resulting in charges.
32 year old Steven Marks of West Hartford Connecticut has found himself with charges against him for criminal mischief and breach of the peace after he made a “false flag” effort in order to attempt to discredit liberals.
Morley Elementary School Principal Ryan Cleary called the police on the morning of June 16th after young students at the school discovered inappropriate language gratified on the school’s playground equipment.
The officers that responded to Principal Clearly’s call found phrases such as “kill Trump”, “Left is the best”, “Bernie Sanders 2020” and “Death to Trump,” written upon a welcome sign, a tan colored piece of equipment, a yellow concrete barrier pole, and on the Little Free Library, all located within the playground where children play.
The police of West Hartford released a short surveillance video clip on June 19th that was time stamped for June 15th, at 10:30 pm. The clip showed a balding white male, riding a bicycle onto the Morley playground property alongside his dog. The suspect appears to write something on the sign that is located in the playground.
Upon seeing his photo in the news, Marks called the police and turned himself in on a warrant that would charge him with third-degree criminal mischief and breach of peace.
According to the statement Marks gave Hartford police, the whole reason he was on the schools property was the play catch with his dog, upon doing so he states he found a green marker and had the “dumb idea to vandalize the school with what would seem to be liberal hate speech.” Marks also told the police that despite his graffiti he would “never harm the president or any member of government.” Marks also acknowledged the fact that his actions were illegal, and how “stupid” he knew they were.
Marks is an open supporter of the president, which leaves the question of why his graffiti was so anti-Trump. “False flag” operations are becoming an increasingly large issue, especially among supporters of the president. “False flag” was originally used to refer to covert naval warfare, but the term has since evolved to refer to anything that has been put in place to intentionally deceive those who see it into thinking it was the work of the enemy.
Marks allegedly told police that the driving force behind his crime was “anger towards liberals and they are breaking major laws everyday and being disrespectful towards our government.”
After Marks was caught red handed, he of course apologized, stating:
‘On the record. I want to say I’m sorry. It was a stupid decision. I hope nobody wants to do the same because it’s wrong.’
Marks has been released on a $500 bail. Judge Tammy Geathers continued the case until the 2nd of August.
