BREAKING: Russian Spy Who Met With Trump Team Charged With Hacking In 2015

-

As more and more details of that now well-known meeting between Donald Trump, Jr., Jared Kushner, and Paul Manafort with Russians promising dirt on Hillary Clinton breaks, the news gets all the more damning for the Russian collusion investigation against Trump and his campaign team.

The latest news to be uncovered is perhaps the most damning. The Daily Beast reports that the newest Russian known to have attended that meeting was not only a former Russian counterintelligence officer, he had been accused of an “international hacking conspiracy” just one year prior to meeting with Trump’s son, son-in-law, and future campaign manager.

‘In court papers filed with New York Supreme Court in November 2015, Akhmetshin was described as “a former Soviet military counterintelligence officer” by lawyers for International Mineral Resources (IMR), a Russian mining company who alleged that they had been hacked.

‘Those documents accuse Akhmetshin of hacking into two computer systems and stolen sensitive and confidential materials as part of an alleged black ops smear campaign against IMR.’

Although the charges were later withdrawn, the news adds a whole new level of concern around that meeting. Not only did Trump campaign officials meet with an alleged hacker, they lied and concealed the meeting as DNC emails were hacked by Russian government officials and leaked to the public.

It is becoming much more difficult for the new president to insist that the alleged collusion between the Trump campaign team and Russian government operatives is nothing more than a “witch hunt” and “fake news.”
