Trump Gets Weird & Tweets ALL CAPS Saturday Lie About Obama Then Regrets It In Seconds

Trump tweeted while on vacation watching the U.S. Open from his own golf club in New Jersey with a string of lies and inaccuracies on the necessity of repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Despite massive resistance from voters, healthcare providers, and Congress, Trump promised to repeal the ACA “on day one,” and six months into his presidency, he is still trying. The first two Republican healthcare bills were largely unpopular and shot down in Congress, but the GOP is not giving up, with help from the clueless new president.

In Trump’s weekly address video, which he prefers over press conferences where he’s asked tough questions, Trump calls the Affordable Care Act a “disaster” and promises to rescue the American people from Democrat’s insurance tyranny.

Economists estimate that the ACA has significantly reduced the number of uninsured Americans by 7.2% in 2017 for a current rate of 8.8%. Provisions of the ACA have ended the denials of coverage for those with pre-existing conditions, taken away the insurance companies lifetime cap, which a disabled child could reach well before adulthood, and covered children on their parents’ insurance until the age of 26 so that they could finish college and establish themselves before paying premiums themselves.

Trump’s most currently-backed healthcare bill is estimated to cut Medicaid by $880 million dollars over the next 10 years. It reestablishes an insurer’s ability to place lifetime caps on the elderly and disabled Americans, and “would cause 22 million Americans to lose health coverage by 2026.”

Twitter was not buying his lies.
