Trump Resignation Over Revelation In Donald Jr Scandal Imminent; Move To Avoid Prosecution: report

-

Often hailed as far beyond his time and because he tackled subjects and story lines that are timeless because they repeat themselves throughout history, Shakespeare wrote a lot about generational cycles within families. In his critically acclaimed play, The Merchant of Venice, Shakespeare talks about the impact that a father’s actions will undoubtedly have on his children.

Shakespeare writes, “The sins of the father are to be laid upon the children.” In the case of Donald Trump, Shakespeare’s words mean that Trump’s sinful ways of greed, deceit, and unscrupulous practices had no choice but to find their way to his offspring.

Unfortunately, from the campaign trail forward, the world has watched in disgust as the impact Trump’s lack of integrity has had on his kids has also infected and insulted American principles, ethics, and values. As a result of the alleged infractions on the part of many members of the Trump family, some have made loud cries for Trump’s impeachment.

However, the latest turn of events in the Trump-Russia saga, along with Trump’s reported inability to handle stress well, has at least one legal expert predicting that chances are higher that Trump will quit his job before allowing himself to face impeachment. Columbia University School of Law Professor, Philip Bobbitt, alludes to Trump’s obvious goal of creating some kind of political dynasty as the reason Trump would likely resign before being impeached.

Trump’s desire to create a dynasty has been evidenced by his decision to have his daughter and son-in-law serve as part of his cabinet, as well as Trump Jr.’s mentions of a run for governor of New York, despite the backlash all of these choices have caused. Bobbitt argues:

‘Whatever [Trump’s] policy goals, it has long been clear that creating a dynasty — having destroyed the two reigning political dynasties in the last campaign — is his greatest objective. Resignation, as remote as it seems right now, might well be a choice the President would make to save his children from prison, and himself from future prosecution.’

According to Bobbitt, resignation is almost the only way out of the “mess” Russia election collusion allegations have caused.

Bobbitt is no average Joe and likely knows a thing or two about politics and the law. He holds degrees from Princeton, Yale, and Oxford. His uncle was President Lyndon B. Johnson, and Bobbitt is a highly-respected constitutional theorist who has served every U.S. President since his uncle, except Nixon, George W. Bush, and Trump.
