President Donald Trump’s newest distraction from the real issues at hand (such as destroying American health care and the fact his son met with that Russian lawyer in hopes of getting information on Hillary Clinton) is his “Made in America” week.
The White House explained what “Made in America” week actually is.
‘This week the Trump administration will honor amazing American workers and companies who have products that are made in America.’
Realistically, however, we all know the hypocrisy that oozes from this new Trump charade. As much as Trump wants to tout that he’s promoting the idea that he supports production in America, we know that belief only applies to other business owners and manufacturers… not his or his family’s own, when it comes to Trump products.
The Washington Post reported:
‘For years, the Trump Organization has outsourced much of its product manufacturing… to make its clothing, home décor pieces and other items…
Similarly, the clothing line of Ivanka Trump… relies exclusively on foreign factories employing low-wage workers…’
With that noted, the press has not allowed Trump to get away with such outrageous insincerity. During the Sunday briefing, Helen Ferre, director of media affairs at the White House, responded to questions inquiring if the Trumps would bring their own products to the U.S. for production. She didn’t even try to spin it. She responded: “We’ll get back to you on that.”
So, the mainstream media shot back and nailed Trump hard during his “Made in America” speech. During Trump’s speech, he said:
‘We will protect our workers, promote our industry and be proud of our history because we will put America first.’
While MSNBC aired the speech, they fact-checked Trump in the chyron, and it was a knockout that resulted in the ultimate troll MSNBC could ever perform on Trump. Underneath Trump as he touted American made as the best, they ran the caption:
‘Trump: Made In America “Means It’s The Best” (His Family’s Products Are Mostly Made Overseas)’
Trump has yet to respond; however, we expect a Twitter tantrum at any time.
