Trump Wakes Up Thinking About Mitch McConnell & Flies Into Pre-Dawn Twitter Rant

There are more than a few things that can trigger a temper tantrum from President Trump, but none quite like being criticized or reminded of his many failures. Despite his unrealistic promises on the campaign trails to his rabid followers, real reform on healthcare continues to be out of his reach and an executive order cannot solve that problem for him. Tough talk and bullying won’t work, either, and so Trump seems out of ideas.

When Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell stated that Trump has “excessive expectations” about how quickly and easily the repeal and replacement of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), President Obama’s signature achievement, could be completed, Trump lashed out on Twitter. On Thursday morning, that tantrum against Mitch McConnell continued.

Trump seems to believe that Mitch McConnell did not do enough to erase President Obama’s work as president – perhaps he didn’t bully people in Congress enough for Trump’s liking – but the truth is that the GOP had no workable healthcare plan and what they were able to agree on was devastating to the American people. Although President Obama had a plan and was able to implement it just nine months after his inauguration, it does not appear as if Trump will be able to match him on that achievement.

If McConnell’s criticism (or any criticism) sticks in Trump’s craw, negative comparisons between Trump and Obama are a real sore spot for the new president. Trump managed to find an online Twitter poll that soothed his hurt feelings over his failure to show up Obama on healthcare.

Perhaps no one should tell Trump that Twitter polls are not accurate or reliable, or that those types of polls are no reflection of the beliefs of the American people. The tantrum that would follow that news would be explosive.

Twitter responded to Trump’s rants in full force.
