After the governor of Virginia, Terry McAuliffe, declared a state of emergency due to neo-Nazi protesters staging a protest against removing a Confederate statue on the University of Virginia’s campus on Saturday, tensions escalated even farther. New reports coming from Charlottesville report multiple injuries after a violent attack on counter protesters.

News from the scene indicates that as many as 40 to 50 anti-fascist protesters have been injured after being plowed into by an unidentified car with no license plates although numbers have not yet been confirmed by police.
UPDATE: One counter protester has died and at least 19 more sustained serious injuries from the attack.
