Former First Lady Michelle Obama decided to transform herself for singer Beyonce’s 36th birthday and she looks amazing, not that Michelle isn’t amazing and classy already. On Monday, Michelle Obama was one of several high-profile celebrities to take part in a tribute for the star’s birthday where they all turned themselves into Beyonce for a spectacular photo shoot.
Michelle Obama, tennis star Serena Williams, and Beyonce’s daughter Blue Ivy were among those to appear in a photo spread that Beyonce posted on her website. All of the ladies in the photo spread are recreating the look from Beyonce’s 2016 music video “Formation.” All are pictured in black and white photos, wearing hats covering their eyes and large ornate necklaces, with hair braided down each side.
Obama and Beyonce have had a very close relationship with one another over the years, and it isn’t surprising that she happily took part in such a stunning birthday celebration for the talented singer. Beyonce also attended the Obama’s last Easter Egg Roll at the White House in 2016 and performed for former President Obama’s inaugural ball.
In 2012, Beyonce wrote in an open letter that First Lady Michelle Obama is the “ultimate example of a truly strong African American woman.” Obama has also paid compliments to Beyonce including tweeting back in April that Beyonce is “a role model for us all.”
Among Beyonce’s other fantastic birthday gifts, was a surprise “Happy Birthday” sing-a-long during singer and husband, Jay-Z’s headlining set at the Made in America festival in Philadelphia. Her mother, Tina, also posted a special birthday message to her on Instagram, saying:
’36 years ago God chose me out of all the women in the world to be your mother! How blessed could I be? Not because you are a super talented, smart business woman and one of the biggest superstars!” she wrote. “Its because you are the kindest most generous, thoughtful, intuitive, loyal, humble, funny, grounded, grateful and loving human being. I am proud to be your mom. Happy Birthday Baby! I love you with my whole heart.’
