When President Donald Trump fired his chief strategist Steve Bannon (or Bannon resigned… whatever), many nodded their heads saying, “He’ll be the one to pop.” After several resignations and firings that were amicable, with the usual smiles and gratitude for being allowed a chance to work for the president, many did not figure he would go quietly without letting the world know what he thought.
He did not disappoint either, and to be honest, it got weird.
Along with hating on the Catholic Church, the pussel-gutted, haggard Bannon admitted he saw himself as a street fighter when he was asked what he wanted to be perceived as.
‘I’m a street fighter. That’s what I am… I think I’m a street fighter.’
He also announced he would continue to fight for Trump, even if he wasn’t on the inside.
‘I’m going to be his wing man outside for the entire time… Our purpose is to support Donald Trump.’
The interview can be hard to follow at times, thanks to Bannon’s rambling, which equates to the drunk racist uncle ranting at the holiday dinner table. However, at some point in the interview, he basically said anyone who worked for Donald Trump either needed to support him 100 percent loyally or leave.
‘My problem… when you side with a man… you side with him… You can tell him, “Hey you can do it better way,” but if you’re going to break with him resign… If you find it unacceptable, resign.’
He went on to also blast GOP officials, such as Mitch McConnell and Paul Ryan, as trying to “nullify the 2016 election.”
‘They do not want Donald Trump’s populist, economic nationalist agenda to be implemented. It’s pretty obvious. It’s as obvious as night follows day.’
When Rose asked him if he realized he was attacking people Trump needed to help him, Bannon ripped into him.
‘They are not going to help you unless they are put on notice they are going to be held accountable if they do not support the president of the United States.’
He then said that now that he was out of the White House, he was going to war with them.
Bannon’s interview is a scary window into the man’s mind. Probably the best thing for America was getting Bannon out of the White House. However, if he thinks Trump has any support for his platform, he’ll continue to support the man until the very end.
