Sunday morning, a man wearing black tactical gear stormed a church in Sutherland Springs, Texas and shot 26 men, women, and children to death in the middle of a Baptist sermon. That man was identified hours later as a 26-year old white man who had been dishonorably discharged from the Air Force in 2014, at the age of 23.
The man was court-martialed after assaulting his spouse and child, however, the president wanted to make sure that this white man who had just slaughtered dozens of people was not seen as a militant terrorist, but a victim of his own mental illness.
Let’s back-up to Sunday morning.
Immediately after the shooting, Trump tweeted the following standard political statement:
May God be w/ the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI & law enforcement are on the scene. I am monitoring the situation from Japan.
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) November 5, 2017
The comments Trump received from that tweet were astoundingly anti-Trump, yet hours after that, he addressed the world from Tokyo, Japan in a televised event in which he seemed to be a bit off his game or just all-around bored. The speech, again, was lackluster:
…Americans do what we do best: we pull together. We join hands. We lock arms and through the tears and the sadness, we stand strong… pic.twitter.com/qkCPgtKGkA

Now, the president has spoken out again this Monday morning, and the excuses he laid out for the Texas terrorist, were beyond disturbing. This comes one week, to the day, that a Middle Eastern man killed 8 people when he used a rented truck as a battering ram on a bike trail near One World Trade in lower Manhattan.
The president attacked the perpetrator of New York’s crime, and gave no inkling of issues that surrounded the terrorist’s reason for going through with his evil plan. The white attacker, however, the one who killed three times the people, his motives were explained away Monday morning by our idiotic commander-in-chief.
According to CNN, Trump said:
“Mental health is your problem here. Based on preliminary reports a very deranged individual. This isn’t a guns situation. This is a mental health problem at the highest level. It’s a very, very sad event. A very, very sad event, but that’s the way I view it.”
“This act of evil occurred as the victims and their families were in their place of sacred worship. We cannot put into words the pain and grief we all feel and we cannot begin to imagine the suffering of those who lost the ones they love. We pull together. We join hands, we lock arms and through the tears and through the sadness we stand strong, oh so strong.”
