Since President Trump was elected a year ago, there have been numerous protests and 25 of those were in the first few weeks after his election. People wanted to protest the racism, bigotry, homophobia and misogyny so representative of Trump’s “Make America Great Again” campaign and of Trump himself. Trump’s inauguration was protested in all 50 states and 32 countries.
The Women’s March on Washington garnered over 1 million protesters, not including those who marched in sister rallies across the country and around the world. All together over 3.2 million protesters showed up to voice their support for women’s rights, LGBT rights, immigrant rights, civil rights and many other things.
Thousands also protested at The March For Science on the Washington Mall, where they gathered to hear speakers and support science and evidence-based research. There were also about 600 satellite rallies as well around the country and world.
More recently, there have been many counterprotests to the white supremacist rallies that have sprung up around the country including the one in Charlottesville, Virginia, which turned deadly, killing 32 year-old Heather Heyer when a car plowed into a crowd of counterprotesters.
A good majority of the American people would probably admit that they would love the opportunity to scream out their frustrations at Trump for the many things that have gone horribly wrong in the past year — Trump using Twitter for his ridiculous rants on a regular basis, senseless votes on a GOP health care bill that would have fallen short of helping many Americans, the hate and racism that has been allowed to fester across the country, and the denial of climate change. Oh…and let’s not forget the the Trump Campaign’s collusion with Russia into the 2016 election, and just the sheer horror of him being elected to begin with that we haven’t recovered from.
Well, now it appears that you can do just that — scream out your frustrations into the sky as a way of marking the one-year anniversary of Trump’s election. An event called “Scream Helplessly at the Sky on the Anniversary of the Election” is being planned in cities across the country on Wednesday night.
Clearly, some people think it is hilarious, but others applaud the idea. Some of the responses from the Trump supporters are hilarious too.
Hopefully, if there is a God somewhere, she listened to the screams and everyone will wake up Thursday morning to Trump and Pence indictments.
