Trump has had quite a back and forth relationship with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. When they were investigating the Hillary Clinton emails, he was totally good with them. Now that they are closing in on him and his own corruption, he’s not a huge fan anymore.
He let that be known Sunday morning when he tweeted major criticisms and insults at the FBI. In a wild rant, he tweeted:
‘Tainted (no, very dishonest?) FBI “agent’s role in Clinton probe under review.” Led Clinton Email probe. @foxandfriends Clinton money going to wife of another FBI agent in charge.’
‘After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters – worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness.’
The FBI, however, did not take Trump’s comments lightly or quietly. They hit Trump back hard with their own response Sunday evening when FBI Agents Association (FBIAA) President Thomas O’Connor issued a statement regarding Trump’s tweets which was then posted to the FBIAA’s Twitter profile. It read:
‘(2/3) “Every day, FBI Special Agents put their lives on the line to protect the American public from national security and criminal threats. Agents perform these duties with unwavering integrity and professionalism and a focus on complying with the law and the Constitution.”‘
‘(3/3) “This is why the FBI continues to be the premier law enforcement agency in the world. FBI Agents are dedicated to their mission; suggesting otherwise is simply false.”‘
The tweets may have never mentioned Trump by name; however, you know exactly what they were talking about.
The FBIAA wasn’t the only one to respond to Trump. Former FBI Director James Comey also tweeted in response to Trump’s tweets. He tweeted:
‘”I want the American people to know this truth: The FBI is honest. The FBI is strong. And the FBI is, and always will be, independent.” Me (June 8, 2017)’

The criticisms didn’t end there, however. Eric Holder, the attorney general for President Barack Obama, also tweeted in response to Trump’s remarks. His remarks, though, were much more direct and pointed towards Trump.
‘Nope. Not letting this go. The FBI’s reputation is not in “tatters”. It’s composed of the same dedicated men and women who have always worked there and who do a great, apolitical job. You’ll find integrity and honesty at FBI headquarters and not at 1600 Penn Ave right now.’
BOOM. Trump’s going to need Obamacare for that burn.
Trump might want to be careful with what he’s throwing around in his tweets. People aren’t going to let him get by with such insults against people who are literally doing their jobs. Additionally, the accusation that the FBI is biased and only going after him for political reasons is absurd. If that were true, Comey never would have reopened a look into Clinton’s emails so soon before an election – something Trump loved him for.
