What do you do when investigators have their eyes set on you. the time is ticking, and you’re beginning to squirm? You deflect, pivot, and blame Hillary Clinton’s emails, of course!
President Trump made several comments on the South Lawn Monday morning that painted his former national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn as a broken man thanks to the big, bad FBI. He remarked:
‘Well, I feel badly for Gen. Flynn. I feel very badly. He’s lead a very strong life. I feel very badly, John.’
So, now Trump wants to express his sympathies for Flynn? That show of compassion may have come too late considering part of Flynn’s reasoning for cooperating with the FBI was he felt abandoned by a man he supported like a loyal puppy dog.
‘A close confidant told ABC News that Flynn felt abandoned by Trump in recent weeks, and told friends about the decision to make the plea deal within the last 24 hours as he grew increasingly concerned about crippling legal costs he would face if he continued to contest the charges.’
Trump pivoted and then tried to say the FBI was unfair because Hillary Clinton lied about her emails, but she was never charged.
‘I will say this. Hillary Clinton on the 4th of July weekend went to the FBI, not under oath. It was the most incredible thing anyone’s ever seen. She lied many times to the FBI, and nothing happened to her. Flynn lied, and it’s like they ruined his life. It’s very unfair.’

The FBI found no evidence that Clinton had ever lied to them, which James Comey told Congress under oath back in 2016.
Trump can say what he wants. He can also show his support for Flynn; however, it’s too late. Flynn could go back on his agreement to work with prosecutors. However, his finances are in ruins. His son faces charges also. His family is in ruins. His life is crumbling around him.
You shouldn’t feel sorry for him by any means. He reaped what he sowed. However, he lost everything, and Trump was never by his side. Trump deserted him, and honestly, there is no way Trump could support Flynn with money for his legal fees because it would look beyond shady.
Trump has also tried to show his support for Flynn on Twitter recently. On Sunday, he tweeted several tweets blasting the FBI’s integrity.
‘Tainted (no, very dishonest?) FBI “agent’s role in Clinton probe under review.” Led Clinton Email probe. @foxandfriends Clinton money going to wife of another FBI agent in charge.’
‘After years of Comey, with the phony and dishonest Clinton investigation (and more), running the FBI, its reputation is in Tatters – worst in History! But fear not, we will bring it back to greatness.’
The only thing that is going to be in tatters is Trump and his family after Special Counsel Robert Mueller is through with them.
