REPORT: NBC News Confirms Don Jr. Sought To Collude With Russian Lawyers, He’s In Deep

The Russia investigation continues to heat up as more information has been revealed about Lil’ Don Don’s meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

NBC News obtained a 51-page statement written by Veselnitskaya which was given to the Senate Judiciary Committee. In the statement, she answered questions regarding the meeting she had with Donald Jr. at Trump Tower during the 2016 election.

A picture taken on November 8, 2016 shows Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya speaking during an interview in Moscow.
The bombshell revelation that President Donald Trump’s oldest son Don Jr. met with a Kremlin-tied Russian lawyer hawking damaging material on Hillary Clinton has taken suspicions of election collusion with Moscow to a new level. / AFP PHOTO / Kommersant Photo / Yury MARTYANOV / Russia OUT (Photo credit should read YURY MARTYANOV/AFP/Getty Images)

Specifically interesting was the fact that Veselnitskaya told the committee that Don Don asked outright if she had any information on Trump’s opponent Hillary Clinton. She wrote:

‘…Donald Trump, Jr. asked if I had any financial documents proving that what may have been illegally obtained funds were also being donated to Mrs. Clinton’s foundation. I said that I did not and that it was not my issue.’

According to Veselnitskaya, once Don Don figured out she had nothing on Clinton, he lost interest, and the meeting basically came to a close.

‘The meeting, essentially, ended there. Today, I understand why it took place to begin with and why it ended so quickly with a feeling of mutual disappointment and time wasted. The answer lies in the roguish letters of Mr. Goldstone.’

Goldstone contacted Junior claiming Veselnitskaya had information on Clinton, and she had ties to the Russian government.

So, let’s go back for a moment. Keeping in mind that Trump campaign officials and the Trump family has sworn there was no collusion, is this not evidence of an attempt at collusion?

How can it not be? Junior was contacted and told a Russian lawyer had the dirt on Clinton straight from the Russian government. He then asked Veselnitskaya for that information specifically.

Breaking that down, Don Don thought he was asking the Russian government for dirt on Hillary Clinton. Under the guise of Goldstone’s exaggerated emails, he knowingly asked the Russian government to help his father’s campaign by providing information to them to aid their campaign. He willfully sought to collude with Russia.

That cannot be lost on Special Counsel Robert Mueller or the Senate and House committees that are investigating the matter. Hopefully, they’ll see that same reasoning, and they’ll be having Don Jr. over for a chat sometime soon.
