FBI Executes Warrant For Trump’s Homeland Security; Official Resigns Instantly

Donald Trump sure knows how to pick his friends. The man who once said he would surround himself with “only the best people” has appointed a national security adviser who resigned in disgrace and pleaded guilty to a federal crime, a campaign manager guilty of “conspiracy against the U.S.,” and a campaign staffer who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia. These are not the best people.

Trump can now add one more criminal to his list of friends. Sheriff David Clarke, Jr., the offensive and ignorant defender of Trump and pious patriot who loves law and order is under investigation for illegally detaining a man who had some sort of exchange with him on an airplane. The FBI executed a search warrant on Friday for emails related to the crime.

Clarke was also nominated by Trump to the post of assistant secretary in the Department of Homeland Security. The former sheriff rescinded the acceptance of that nomination as the details of the search warrant went public.

Craig Peterson, an adviser to Sheriff Clarke, issued this statement following the decision to rescind his acceptance.

‘Late Friday, Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. formally notified Secretary of Homeland Security John F. Kelly that he had rescinded his acceptance of the agency’s offer to join DHS as an assistant secretary. Sheriff Clarke is 100 percent committed to the success of President Trump and believes his skills could be better utilized to promote the president’s agenda in a more aggressive role.’

It’s beginning to appear as if Trump doesn’t know anyone who isn’t a criminal who wants to support his presidency or his agenda. How many pardons can one president issue in one term in office?
