Some experts are sounding warnings about Mr. Trump’s relationship with Twitter these days. As the majority of people now know, Trump is under heavy investigation under Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe, but what he has been doing isn’t helping.
On Sunday, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara went on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos” saying that he believes Trump is ignoring his attorneys when it comes to social media use. Bharara said on ABC’s “This Week With George Stephanopoulos”:
‘What I believe is that the president doesn’t listen to his lawyers.’
Bharara went on to talk about how Trump claims he “was listening to his lawyers.” If he really was though:
‘there’s lots and lots of stuff that he would not have done, said, tweeted.’
‘So here’s a person who wants to defend himself, he does it through the platform of Twitter on a daily basis.’
Bharara said to ABC’s Stephanopoulos:
‘He said he wants to talk to the special counsel’s office. And if they make the request or say “we’re available for you to talk to us,” it seems untenable not to do it. Now, the president doesn’t have to talk, but I imagine the president will talk because that’s what he does.’
Bharara is a very skilled legal expert and his opinion on the subject carries a lot of weight. Back in September, the U.S. sttorney went on CNN to discuss the details behind why he thinks Trump fired him. Bharara said:
‘I will tell you one thing, now that it’s been some months. I believe based on the information that we have on the president talking to Jim Comey relating to Michael Flynn, the information about the president talking to Jeff Sessions about the case of Joe Arpaio, and how he wanted both of those cases to go away — that had I not been fired, and had Donald Trump continued to cultivate a direct personal relationship with me, it’s my strong belief that at some point, given the history, the President of the United States would have asked me to do something inappropriate,” Preet said on the first episode of his new podcast “Stay Tuned with Preet.’
Preet Bharara was fired back in March, and he maintains that he was fired after refusing to quit. According to The New York Times:
‘Mr. Bharara stayed quiet until Saturday afternoon. Then, on his personal Twitter account, he wrote: “I did not resign. Moments ago I was fired.” Referring to the Southern District of New York, he continued, “Being the U.S. attorney in SDNY will forever be the greatest honor of my professional life.’
It will be interesting to hear Bharara’s thoughts about the Mueller investigation in the coming months. Many Americans can see for themselves that Trump equals corruption any way they look at it. There is probably some kind of cover up related to about anyone he has fired in the last year.
Mueller, keep it coming. People are waiting for the man in the Oval Office to get what he deserves.
