From the very start of his presidential campaign, until now after a year of being in office, President Donald Trump seemingly tops one controversy with another, with the next always more cringeworthy than the last. Yet, just when the global community feels like there could be no possible way for the controversies to worsen, Trump seemingly never fails to deliver more shocks.

Recent reports emerging Friday outline an arrangement between Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and former adult-film star Stephanie Clifford, to keep the actress from disclosing a sexual encounter that occurred between her and Trump in 2006. According to the Wall Street Journal, Cohen had, “arranged payment to the woman, Stephanie Clifford, in October 2016 after her lawyer negotiated the nondisclosure agreement with Mr. Cohen.”

Clifford, known by her industry name, Stormy Daniels, stated to sources that she and the president were involved in a consensual sexual encounter in 2006, which occurred a year after his marriage with Melania Trump.

The White House has since declined to make any official comment on the Wall Street Journal report that was published Friday, telling reporters that the interactions and information about the sexual encounter were recycled reports that were refuted at the onset of the presidential elections. However, when questioned about the six-figure payment to the adult-film star, the White House again denied to comment.

Cohen has attempted to discredit these reports, attempting to write off the allegations of “hush money” payments as fabricated rumors. Clifford and her lawyer have, additionally, declined to comment to the Wall Street Journal regarding the arrangement.
