The nation continues to struggle through the Trump administration, with the belligerent businessman turned political leader taking what seems like every opportunity to remind Americans that he sought the presidency to look out for his own interests and not anyone else’s.

In that light, America is unsurprisingly looking for replacements to Trump, with an eye on the 2020 presidential election, which many hope will come two years after a stunning Democratic wave later this year in the midterms.

The Associated Press now has yet another new report about someone who may end up taking on Trump come 2020 — our most recent former vice president, Joe Biden.

The AP reports that, based on the testimony of five people who either attended a recent private meeting at a new diplomacy center led by Biden or were briefed on it, the vice president is keeping his options open when it comes to the 2020 presidential race and has not ruled out running.

According to the AP, Biden “said he was keeping his 2020 options open, considering it a real possibility.” The outlet adds that he “insisted he had made no decision, and didn’t need to yet.”

Biden has made a string of public appearances recently, criticizing the president during many of them.

In a recent appearance on MSNBC, he insisted that his present focus is on getting Democrats to win races in the midterm elections later this year, saying:

‘I’m focused on one thing: electing a Democratic Congress to stop this erosion of the core of who we are. I’ll look at [2020 possibilities] a year from now. I have plenty of time to consider whether or not to run.’
