Too many revelations have poured out of the investigation into the alleged collusion between Trump’s presidential campaign and Russia, his extramarital affair with an adult film actress and a former Playboy playmate, and the illegal data mining by Cambridge Analytica that was meant to bolster Trump’s bid for the presidency. It seems now Trump has decided that it is time to return to his campaign’s racist roots to distract from all of these negatives stories and, if human beings’ lives are destroyed in the process, he doesn’t really seem to care.
Trump continued on Monday morning with the new lie he began ranting about on Easter Sunday, when he stood in front of a church with his wife and told reporters that the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) protections must be ended immediately as undocumented immigrants are pouring into the country to take advantage of the deal.
Surprisingly, the church did not burst into flames as he lied to the American public so shamelessly. DACA requirements to do not apply to anyone coming into the United States today. In fact, the requirements to qualify for DACA protections say that an applicant must:
- Have come to the United States before your sixteenth birthday.
- Have lived continuously in the U.S. since June 15, 2007.
- Have been present in the U.S. on June 15, 2012, and on every day since August 15, 2012.
It is quite interesting that, in his tweets, Trump discussed all of this power that Mexico has to keep people out, since they have no wall on their borders.
