After Michael Wolff released his book, Fire and Fury, the White House scrambled to deny anything in it was true. Right wing media called Wolff a crackpot, Trump called the author “mentally deranged,” and White House staffers leaked how furious the president was about the book.
Well, another book has dropped about what things are like in the White House now, and it claims that Kellyanne Conway is the number one leaker in the administration. Ronald Kessler says in his book The Trump White House, that Conway would spread “mean and ugly” lies about former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus in an effort to undercut him. Kessler says he had access to Trump’s top aides and that Conway, Jared Kushner, and Ivanka Trump, are notorious for spreading rumors about those they work with.
Kessler told Jake Tapper on CNN’s State of the Union,
‘While I was interviewing Kellyanne at the White House, she forgot that she was on the record. She started lashing into Reince Priebus. She said the most mean, cutting and obviously untrue things about Reince, and I didn’t include them in the book because they were so unfair.
‘She also lit into Jared and Ivanka, saying that they leak against Steve Bannon. I know White House aides who have seen texts she has sent to other journalists, dissing her colleagues, leaking material.
‘So if you wonder why there are so many leaks out of the White House, one reason is, Kellyanne is the number one leaker.”
Kellyanne likes to complain about leaks in the White House and how dangerous they can be. But if Kessler is correct, Conway is the one leaking the most information about those she works with. He makes her sound like a petty coworker that enjoys dampening the spirit inside the happy atmosphere in the White House.
