Donald Trump has been roaming the White House halls enraged. He cannot bear that the FBI director he rudely fired decided to fight back. Truly, James Comey has been punching the president as hard as he got punched.
The publisher released excerpts days before the former FBI director’s tell-all book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership, about the commander-in-chief, came out. Then, Comey decided to interview with ABC’s George Stephanopolous.
Trump tweeted that the author was a “slimeball:”
‘Unbelievably, James Comey states that Polls, where Crooked Hillary was leading, were a factor in the handling (stupidly) of the Clinton Email probe. In other words, he was making decisions based on the fact that he thought she was going to win, and he wanted a job. Slimeball!’
In a second tweet, the president kept playing the “jail” card:
‘The big questions in Comey’s badly reviewed book aren’t answered like, how come he gave up Classified Information (jail), why did he lie to Congress (jail), why did the DNC refuse to give Server to the FBI (why didn’t they TAKE it), why the phony memos, McCabe’s $700,000 & more?’
The ex-FBI director also explained some of his questionable behavior regarding Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. He admitted to Congress directly before the 2016 presidential election that there was a new FBI investigation into her private email server.
Comey said that he may have unconsciously affected the presidential election:
‘It must have been. I don’t remember consciously thinking about that, but it must have been because I was operating in a world where Hillary Clinton was going to beat Donald Trump, and so I’m sure that it was a factor.’
