Rudy Giuliani Makes Ivanka Trump Prosecution Announcement Like A Moron Wrecking Ball

Ask the president or any one of his closest allies and you’d get the impression that there is a force hiding in the curtains of government buildings and launching a subversive attack on the Trump presidency via pushing the Russia investigation along. In reality, in the face of concerning evidence, the reality based justice system here in the United States has fostered inquiries into the Trump team including the criminal probe of Trump’s personal lawyer Michael Cohen and the Russia investigation as led by Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

No reality is going to stop the Trump team from pushing their martyr-complex driven conspiracy theories, though.

In that light, newly tapped Trump lawyer and longtime supporter of the president Rudy Giuliani appeared last Wednesday on Fox News and offered a grandiose vision to host Sean Hannity of what he would do in the case of Mueller deciding to more explicitly scrutinize Trump’s daughter and adviser Ivanka.

He told Hannity:

‘Ivanka Trump? I think I would get on my charger and go right into — run into their offices with a lance if they go after Ivanka… If they do do Ivanka, which I doubt they will, the whole country will turn on them. They are going after his daughter?’

At one point during Giuliani’s comments about Ivanka, Hannity interjected, saying:

‘At this point sir, I honestly agree with you. I fear for the country.’

To be clear then, the apocalyptic fairy tale reality Hannity has created for himself facilitates his belief that the orderly functioning of the justice system is sufficient reason to “fear for the country.” He certainly has an ally in that belief in the president himself, who has sought to undercut the justice system through both concrete and rhetorical means over the months that he has been in office.

Hannity went on during his Wednesday conversation with Giuliani to ask him about what he would do in the case of the special counsel going more explicitly after son-in-law to the president and husband to Ivanka, Jared Kushner, who doubles as a longtime close adviser of the country’s chief executive.

The former New York City mayor told the Fox host:

‘Jared is a fine man, you know that. But men are, you know, disposable, but a fine woman like Ivanka, come on.’

Giuliani’s strange comments about Ivanka and Jared have been nearly lost under the swamp of coverage associated with some other comments he offered during his Wednesday appearance on Fox.

Seemingly standing in stark contrast to past claims from the president’s team, Giuliani told Hannity Wednesday night that the president had actually reimbursed his personal lawyer Michael Cohen for the hush money he delivered on the president’s behalf to adult film star Stormy Daniels in 2016.

The president himself confirmed Giuliani’s accounting of events with a string of tweets posted last Thursday.

He added the longtime ally to his personal legal team recently as one part of a shakeup that culminated recently in the departure of Ty Cobb.
