We no longer need to introduce Michael Avenatti as the attorney for Stormy Daniels. When most people hear his name or see him on TV, they already know who he is without having any qualifiers attached to his name at this point. He has certainly been racking up a lot of quality television time the past two months.
By last count, Avenatti’s appeared on CNN 65 times, MSNBC 43 times, plus single interviews on Megyn Kelly Today, The View, Good Morning America, The Late Show, 60 Minutes, and Real Time with Bill Maher. He’s been on TV so much it’s almost certain that Donald Trump is jealous of him. All that TV time is a valuable commodity for Avenatti as well.
To calculate his earned media time, the Free Beacon multiplied the length of his appearances on a program by its “National Publicity Value” determination from media monitoring site TVEyes.com. The total value came out to a whopping $174,631,598.07.
Donald Trump must be totally green with envy. He may have been the king of the airwaves in the run up to the 2016 election, but that’s no longer the truth. That mantle now belongs to Avenatti. It doesn’t hurt Avenatti’s image that he’s taking on Trump and making him look like a fool either. The majority of people in the U.S. don’t like Trump and when they see someone taking him down a notch they tend to tune it.
Now that Avenatti has started freely calling out Rudy Giuliani too, it’s almost certain that his television airtime won’t be ending anytime soon. It’s been fun to watch the charismatic attorney refuse to back down from the challenge of taking Trump down.
