The depths to which Donald Trump has brought the presidency are continuing to become clearer as time goes on. He came into office facing credible allegations of sexual assault brought by numerous women, and it’s not as though he has exactly improved his position since then.

Now, Summer Zervos, who is one of the women who has accused the president of sexual misconduct, has subpoenaed records that her team says can help her case against the president. Zervos filed a defamation lawsuit against Trump early last year; earlier this year, in March, a judge ruled against the president’s claim and allowed her case to proceed.

Zervos alleges that, after a stint on the president’s old reality show The Apprentice, she met with him in order to explore the possibility of getting an internship with him. It was during those meetings that Zervos says the man who is now president forcibly kissed her and eventually, in 2007 at the Beverly Hills Hotel, grabbed her breasts.

The subpoenas announced by the Zervos camp recently demand photos, video, and the like from the president’s old show from its owner M.G.M. featuring Zervos or the president talking about her. Similarly, the Beverly Hills Hotel is facing a subpoena ordering them to produce any and all records related to Zervos, the president, his longtime personal bodyguard Keith Schiller, and his longtime personal assistant Rhona Graff from the period of 2005 through 2009.

Commenting on the development, Zervos’ lawyer Mariann Wang said:

‘We’re gathering evidence that we believe will prove that the defendant lied when he falsely denigrated Ms. Zervos and when he denied sexually assaulting her.’

The president has, as Wang indicated, denied the allegations from Zervos, and he has — unsurprisingly — denied the allegations from the other women accusing him of assault, too. The case against him, however, is continuing to proceed. All of the allegations against him are supported by instances like that of the president having been caught on tape bragging about his supposed freedom to commit sexual assault because of his social standing.
