Last April, rocker Ted Nugent, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and Kid Rock met with Mr. Trump at the White House. The photos of the encounter instigated a firestorm on social media and pinned a lasting image on the minds of everyone. Now, that photo is resurfacing once again and the reason is quite funny.
Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former President Clinton, shared a tweet by writer Oliver Willis, which included the picture of Ted Nugent with Trump and next to it was Nugent’s use of the crude term “toxic c—,” which he used in an interview to describe Hillary Clinton 24 years ago.
Willis tried to capture the hypocritical nature of Trump’s White House, captioning the photo with:
‘something something something samantha bee fake outrage something.’
During her Wednesday night show, TBS host Samantha Bee called Ivanka Trump a “feckless c—.” The White House condemned her words and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders issued a statement saying:
‘The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling. Her disgusting comments and show are not fit for broadcast, and executives at Time Warner and TBS must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned on its network.’
Chelsea tweeted back at Oliver:
‘I keep hoping for consistency too, Oliver. Though I’m not holding my breath!’
Nugent had described Hillary Clinton using the vulgar term during a 1994 interview for “Westword” magazine. Nugent said:
‘You probably can’t use the term “toxic c—” in your magazine, but that’s what she is. Her very existence insults the spirit of individualism in this country. This bitch is nothing but a two-bit whore for Fidel Castro.’
Here’s how Twitter responded to Chelsea’s tweet:
