Martin Luther King’s Daughter Just Responded To The Samantha Bee/Ivanka Trump Outcry

-

Conservative white people are flipping out after Roseanne Barr’s hit show was cancelled and the reruns of her original show was taken out of syndication. Roseanne lost a lot of things, mostly money, and cost a lot of other people their jobs when she said Obama official Valerie Jarrett looks like a Muslim ape.

Roseanne issued excuse after lame excuse for her ignorance, including being under the influence of Ambien’s racist possession, and having no knowledge that Jarrett was a black woman.

So, when Samantha Bee called Ivanka Trump a ‘cunt’ on last night’s show, they literally lost their minds. According to Trump-loving Republicans, calling a white woman a cunt is that same as calling a black person a monkey. Racists are literally calling for the comedian to lose her job the same way Roseanne did, because obviously, that’s only fair.

The comparison has left at least one activist furious. Bernice King lost her father to white fear of black strength. He devoted everything to this nation, and paid the ultimate sacrifice. Bernice’s continual use of her father’s platform leaves Americans remembering a more hopeful time. Sadly enough, that time consisted of black lives being discarded if they dared fight too hard for equality, and it still held more hope. We now know that we can go far backwards. We can devolve back to pure ignorance.

King’s heart was hit hard when she heard of the comparison of Bee’s and Barr’s statements. Compelled to do something about the lack of understanding, King released the following message:

“Let’s stop calling each other names. Also, let’s stop comparing an insult to a dehumanizing term used in oppressing Black people and sanctioning the Transatlantic Slave Trade, slavery, Jim Crow, lynching and the idea that Black men are so strong that they have to be shot 8 times.”

The responses to this tweet were off the wall. Check out the replies below:
