If Donald Trump believed that he was going to escape Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into the Russia attack on the 2016 U.S. presidential election, he was wrong. He may also find that his inability to say “You’re fired!” in real life has fatally wounded him.

Trump may well regret how he has treated his Attorney General Jeff Session since the man did the right thing and recused himself from the Russia investigation. The AG had no choice, because he was highly visibly involved in the Trump Campaign.

Producer of MSNBC’s @TheLastWord Kyle Griffin tweeted about the beginning of Trump’s spiral down into a well of hatred against the man who used to be his friend:

‘In March ’17, Trump objected to Sessions’ decision 2 days earlier to recuse himself from the Russia probe. Trump berated Sessions, told him he should reverse course.’

Former federal prosecutor and legal expert for TV and print, Renato Mariotti tweeted about Trump’s definition of “loyalty:”

‘As I told @KateBolduan on @OutFrontCNN, Trump’s request to Sessions to take back control of the Russia investigation after his recusal in order to show “loyalty,” combined with other evidence, suggests that Mueller will conclude Trump obstructed justice.’

Mueller’s investigation into the president’s obstruction of justice has gone beyond firing former FBI Director, James Comey. Now, the probe has taken the special counsel to the president trying to force Sessions from recusing himself in overseeing the Russian attack and the Trump campaign’s potential conspiracy with the Russians.

The New York Times reported that Mueller’s investigation has spread to Trump’s horrendous continual treatment of AG Sessions:

‘The special counsel’s interest demonstrates Mr. Sessions’s overlooked role as a key witness in the investigation into whether Mr. Trump tried to obstruct the inquiry itself.’

It has even impacted their once close friendship:

‘Before the recusal, the president and his attorney general were friends, often sharing meals and talking on the phone. Today, they rarely speak outside of cabinet meetings.’

Professor of law at Duke University and previous federal prosecutor Samuel Buell said:

‘It’s yet more behavior that tramples on the line between law and politics.’
