Cost Of Trump’s Golf Trips Compared To Mueller Investigation’s – Donald Is Robbing You

It is no surprise now to most Americans that Mr. Trump spends a large amount of time at his golf properties including Mar-a-Lago, the Winter White House. In fact, Trump has spent about one-third of presidency frequenting all of his properties. It was reported back in December that the president’s flights to Mar-a-Lago have cost taxpayers at least $6 million dollars alone.

Now, it was just reported that Mr. Trump has spent more money going to Mar-a-Lago than Robert Mueller’s office has spent on the Russia probe. The irony in this is that Trump has repeatedly attacked Mueller for racking up millions of dollars in expenses.

Just on Friday, Trump tweeted:

‘A.P. has just reported that the Russian Hoax Investigation has now cost our government over $17 million, and going up fast. No Collusion, except by the Democrats!’

However, that number is small in comparison to what taxpayers have spent to send Trump on his numerous trips to Mar-a-Lago. POLITICO estimated that just one trip to Mar-a-Lago costs taxpayers approximately $3 million dollars. We know that Trump visits his properties nearly every weekend so at the rate of $3 million, he has already cost the American people upwards of millions of dollars.

Trump has frequently attacked former President Obama for playing golf and said that he would not take time out of his presidency to do so. In 2015, while on the campaign trail, he vowed that “he would not be a president who took vacations.”

As of May 18, 2018, POLITIFACT confirms that Trump has taken 56 golf outings while Obama had taken 37 at this point in his presidency. A White House spokeswoman claimed last year that the president’s visits to Mar-a-Lago were work-related. She said:

‘He is not vacationing when he goes to Mar-a-Lago. The president works nonstop every day of the week, no matter where he is.’
