Mr. Trump was in Singapore on Monday preparing for his historical meetup with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after attending the G7 Summit in Quebec. However, he wasted no time getting on Twitter, his usual form of communication, to whine as he always does about something.
Trump blasted “haters and losers” who were skeptical about the success of the Singapore summit. Trump tweeted:
‘The fact that I am having a meeting is a major loss for the U.S., say the haters & losers. We have our hostages, testing, research and all missile launches have stoped, and these pundits, who have called me wrong from the beginning, have nothing else they can say! We will be fine!’
Trump issued the above tweet just three hours before he was scheduled to meet with Kim Jong Un as part of the first meeting ever between a U.S. president and sitting North Korean leader.
A short time earlier, Trump released a previous tweet attempting to make his meeting with Jong Un sound immensely important. He said:
‘Meetings between staffs and representatives are going well and quickly….but in the end, that doesn’t matter. We will all know soon whether or not a real deal, unlike those of the past, can happen!’
Trump and Kim are scheduled to meet at 9:00 a.m. Singapore time in a luxury hotel. The only other people said to be present are interpreters. The two leaders plan to hold an expanded meeting with their advisers along with a working lunch.
A day earlier, Mr. Trump met with Singaporian Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and told him the meeting with Kim would “work out very nicely.” Kim spent his Monday in a very different way touring Singapore and posing for photos with local officials.
Trump is scheduled to leave Singapore on Tuesday night after the summit.
Here’s what Twitter had to say to Donald:
