Trump Just Revealed His Goals Of Becoming A Ruthless Dictator To The Press Like A Derp

Earlier this week, U.S. President Donald Trump met with the dictatorial leader of North Korea, Kim Jong Un, in a summit that had been widely anticipated. The ramifications of that meeting are still unfolding and the questions of how each involved leader will act going forward are still to be fully answered — but in the meantime, what is clear is the farthest thing from “pretty.”

Trump — a president of the United States of America — thinks very highly of the North Korean dictator, who just to be clear, is a mass murderer.

Asked Friday outside of the White House about the possibility of the North Korean leader visiting the White House, Trump indicated that the prospect is certainly on the horizon, adding:

‘He’s the head of a country — and I mean he’s a strong head. Don’t let anyone think anything different. He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same.’

Watch the video below.

In the video, it’s been pointed out that towards the end of his above quoted remark, Trump gestured towards the White House as if he had his staff in mind more than the people of the United States at large.

Trump has certainly faced staffing issues since assuming his present position; reports have emerged just recently of the administration proving so desperate to fill positions that they’ve turned to job fairs and email blasts. Overall, dozens upon dozens of top officials have left the White House in the time Trump has been in office — which isn’t even two years yet — and as for those who are still actually on the job, Trump hardly aims to make it seem as though he’s on good terms with all of them.

He has repeatedly lashed out at Attorney General Jeff Sessions, taking his decision last year to recuse himself from the Russia investigation as an act of insubordination. It’s just one of the excuses Trump has come up with for the investigation continuing; his excuses, though, all ignore the facts of the evidence that have warranted an investigation into his team’s Russia ties.

Those aren’t the only facts Trump seems keen on ignoring, though. His Friday praise of Kim Jong un is the latest in a long string of similar comments that have glossed over the facts of the North Korean leader’s human rights violations.

Asked why he insists on lavishing praise on North Korea’s leader while taking questions from reporters on Friday, Trump said, speaking to a reporter:

‘You know why? Because I don’t want to see a nuclear weapon destroy you and your family.’

Are these really the only two options Trump thinks are available — ignore a dictator’s active human rights violations or face a barrage of nuclear missiles?

He went on after the above comment to lavish praise on himself, too, quipping that he “did a great job this weekend.” Among the pieces of evidence he pointed to for his success is the apparent return of the remains of American soldiers who died in the Korean War. He claimed yet again to have had numerous parents approach him seeking his help in getting their children’s remains back, although such parents would be over 100 years old.

It all fits into a pattern of Trump ignoring reality as it suits him. He eventually tried to undo the impact of his earlier cited, ignorant desire for his staff to treat him like Kim’s staff treats him by claiming it to be sarcasm — as if dictatorship is funny.
