Donald Trump’s TV attack pug, attorney Rudy Giuliani, said he had no idea that the lawyer who met with Donald Trump Jr. worked for the Russian government. Then, CNN’s Jake Tapper asked him if the president would pardon his former campaign manager, Paul Manafort. Giuliani’s response was astounding.
State of the Union’s host Tapper held the former New York City mayor’s feet to the fire during his interview. The president’s attorney was uncertain on a number of questions.
For example, Giuliani commented one the Bible’s commandments:
‘(Lying) breaks one of the commandments – I think.’
Then, Tapper hit the TV attack attorney with the real question of the hour, would Trump pardon Manafort? Giuliani gave a strong answer, but then he weasled it at the end:
‘@JakeTapper: “If Manfort is convicted, will President Trump pardon him?” Rudy Giuliani: “The President is not going to issue any pardons in this investigation … When it’s over? Hey, he’s the President of the United States, he retains his pardon power”‘
Special Counsel Robert Mueller asked the judge to rescind Manafort’s bail, because the lobbyist had contacted several witnesses in his own case. Not only that, Manafort tried influence the men’s testimony.
Witness tampering is a crime that the judge took very seriously. In fact, she took it so seriously, she agreed with Mueller.
The judge sent Mueller to jail. The man who wore $7000 suits has likely been very uncomfortable in his orange coveralls.
