Democrats in the midterm election have a couple of powerful, charismatic backers in their corner ahead of November. Barack and Michelle Obama are now endorsing a hefty list of nearly 100 Democratic candidates in the midterm elections, and that can only help usher in the blue wave.

Obama said in a statement that:

‘[I am] proud to endorse such a wide and impressive array of Democratic candidates — leaders as diverse, patriotic, and big-hearted as the America they’re running to represent…I’m confident that, together, they’ll strengthen this country we love by restoring opportunity that’s broadly shared, repairing our alliances and standing in the world, and upholding our fundamental commitment to justice, fairness, responsibility, and the rule of law.’

One of the Obamas most notable strengths is public speaking, so it can only help with the expected blue wave to have them back on the campaign trails. While that blue wave is far from being a certainty, generic polls show the Democrats leading by a significant margin.

Obama’s endorsement include a wide range of candidates:

‘His endorsement list includes several people in high-profile races, including Gavin Newsom for governor of California, Stacey Abrams for governor of Georgia and Jacky Rosen for US Senate in Nevada.
‘Former Obama administration officials and campaign alumni were among those who snagged Obama’s backing. They include Colin Allred, Andrew Kim, Tom Malinowski, Lauren Underwood, Richard Cordray and Jill Schiller.’

While Obama did not endorse more controversial candidates like Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and he stayed away from popular candidates who may suffer in their districts with an endorsement from Obama, such as Democratic challenger to Ted Cruz, Beto O’Rourke, the list of candidates with an Obama endorsement is growing and more names will be released ahead of the elections.
