Not so fast Donald Trump…last night you congratulated the Republican candidate for his big win in Ohio’s 12th congressional district special election. Unfortunately for you your tweet was a bit premature. In fact the race is still listed as too close to call. But things are looking up for Danny O’Connor, the Democrat in the race, considering Ohio election officials just found hundreds of votes that have not been counted yet.
🚨 6:05 PM UPDATE 🚨
We just netted 190 VOTES from Franklin County!
We're confident DANNY WILL WIN once ALL the votes are counted, but we spent EVERYTHING we had on the Special Election.
Please donate $5 to make sure EVERY LAST VOTE is counted fairly.https://t.co/c4xUZd1ngr

USA Today reported that “election officials in Franklin County found 588 previously uncounted votes in a Columbus suburb. The result: O’Connor had a net gain of 190 votes, bringing the race’s margin down to 1564”. But those aren’t the only uncounted votes. There are still 3,435 provisional ballots and 5,048 absentee ballots that will be tabulated by August 24th.
…..Congratulations to Troy Balderson on a great win in Ohio. A very special and important race!

O’Connor’s opponent, Troy Balderson, did the same thing as Trump…he declared victory even though a winner had not yet been announced. Premature declarations like that make both of them seem a little dense. The 12th district has been held by a Republican for the last 25 years, so no one really thought the race would even be close.
Apparently Trump was worried about the race though because he even went to Ohio and put on one of his love fests, and used the event to stump for Balderson. He’s very desperate and so terrified that the prophesied big blue wave is going to come crashing to shore and wipe out the Republican held majorities in the House and Senate. If/when that happens Trump’s legal problems could get way worse because it’s possible he could be looking at impeachment.
Tonight’s announcement about the uncounted votes is a great thing for O’Connor and all the Democrats who are fed up with Trump and his Republican cohorts. There are now almost 9,000 votes that need to be counted, and it won’t take all that many to give the win to O’Connor.
