On Wednesday, the White House announced that Trump was revoking former CIA Director John Brennan’s security clearance, in a move that has been largely considered as revenge against Brennan for daring to speak out against our so-called “president.”

Press Secretary, Sarah Sanders, read a statement written by Trump:

‘Mr. Brennan’s lying and recent conduct characterized by increasingly frenzied commentary is wholly inconsistent with access to the nation’s most closely held secrets and facilities, the very aim of our adversaries, which is to sow division and chaos.’

As you might expect, this move by Trump has not gone over well.

After the news, Brennan fired back at Trump stating that this is an absolute “abuse of power” and tweeted:

Brennan also made similar statements during an interview on MSNBC.

Watch:

Brennan is definitely not alone in his sentiments, and on Wednesday evening, former FBI Director, James Comey took to Twitter and sent a clear message to Donald Trump (and America) that revoking Brennan’s security clearance proves that “he [Trump] will punish people who disagree with him and reward those who praise him.”

And the Twitterverse agreed:

Trump has not yet responded to the statements made by Brennan and Comey, but I’m sure we can expect a Twitter meltdown in due time.
