Donald Trump’s unpredictably makes him a frightening specter in the White House, but it is his predictability that can sometimes be even more frightening. After Lindsey Graham announced to the media that he predicts Trump will fire his own appointee, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, following the midterm elections, the president has predictably begun his daily rants against Sessions to justify what he’ll later say was his excuse for that.
In truth, Donald Trump wants someone at the Department of Justice who will play partisan politics with the role. He wants someone who will go after Hillary Clinton, the intelligence community, and anyone else who dares brings up Trump’s own corruption while also killing the Russian collusion probe headed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller that threatens his presidency and hovers like a cloud over the image he wants to project.
All of the “scandals” Trump has so used as political fodder since his campaign days have proven to be nothing more than nonsense, which is exactly what is expected of a man (using the word “man” loosely) who accused his campaign challengers of everything from having a father who was involved in the assassination of JFK to coordinating some “deep state coup” involving every single person who has ever dared say a negative word against him in order to take him down.
Jeff Sessions is not exactly a man to admire, but protecting him against a lawless president bent on getting away with numerous crimes against the American people is paramount at this time.
