Donald Trump was forcefully retired to his Mar-a-Lago resort. Day and night he fumes and adds to his enemies list. The list includes a handful of Republicans who had the courage to stand up to him after the January 6 failed coup. Representative Liz Cheney (R-WY) is the epitome of GOP courage, and she hit him where it hurts, in his wallet.

There are seven Republicans in all who voted to impeach Trump. To get even he primaried them by endorsing other Republicans, sending out his acolytes to campaign for them, and praising his picks during his own rallies. Both Jaime Herrera Beutler (R-WA) and Fred Upton (R-MI) have been out-fundraising the aging golfer’s choice. Upton said:

‘We’ll have the resources to win. I’m not worried.’

Others on Trump’s enemies list are doing well. Senator Lisa Murkowski also voted to impeach him and raised almost $1.1 million in the third quarter. The ex’s favorite Kelly Tshibaka only brought in $465,945, according to reports filed Friday with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), CNN reported:

‘In addition, Murkowski ended September with more than $3.2 million in cash reserves — more than 10 times the amount Tshibaka had remaining in her campaign account.’

Cheney not only voted to impeach the ex, she is also vice chairwoman of the January 6 Select Committee. As usual, the former president responded as a fifth-grade boy would by attempting to label her as a “warmonger” and “disloyal.” Not only did she have to face his ugly tantrum, her party also voted to remove her from their House leadership.

Still, Cheney was one of the top 10 fundraising politicians among those who were for Trump’s ousting. She raised $1.7 million, the second-largest fundraising quarter of her time in office, The Casper Star-Tribune wrote. Even President George W. Bush held a fundraising event for her, according to CNBC. Trump’s pick, attorney Harriet Hageman, raised $302,000 in the same quarter CNN reported:

‘Cheney ended September with more than $3.6 million in the bank to Hageman’s $245,000.’

Cheney campaign adviser Amy Edmonds said:

‘[Cheney is raising] historic levels of support because she is upholding her oath to the Constitution.’

Trump-endorsed Republicans did poorly compared to sitting House Republicans:

  • ‘Herrera Buetler raised $523,591, surpassing the $452,132 collected by Joe Kent, a US Army veteran endorsed last month by Trump.
  • Upton brought in $292,943 in the third quarter, far more than Steve Carra’s $115,585.
  • Max Miller, the Republican endorsed by Trump to take on Gonzalez, brought in more than $695,000 during the third quarter, $500,000 of which came in the form of a personal loan from Miller.’

Carra said:

‘Fundraising certainly has picked up after his endorsement,” he said. “I will have raised about the same amount in Q3 as I did in Q2, but a large portion of that would be after his endorsement came.’

In a statement, Hageman wrote:

‘We know that Liz Cheney will have more money than she can spend, raised by Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia special interests, establishment politicians, and Democrats who find her to be a useful tool.’
